Carpenters build wheelchair ramp for Holocaust survivor
Cleveland, Ohio - On Sunday, June 26, Local 373 members Dustin Wolf and Gary Wolf and Local 435 member Alex Zicari built a wheel chair ramp for a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor. The homeowner could no longer use her porch stairs, which prevented her from leaving her home.
Dustin Wolf, son of Gary Wolf, commented, "She had been sent to Auschwitz at the age of 16 and witnessed her parents and siblings get walked to the gas chambers. She even survived being shot in the leg by the Nazis. Hearing her stories first hand was very sad to hear. But, she couldn't be happier to see us on a Sunday morning or be more grateful for the work that union Carpenters did to help her out."
